Abstract

Glyphosate at 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 kg/ha in single (middle of April) and double spray (middle of April and July) was applied in young Khasi mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco) orchard and compared with local mulches, weedy check and weed free treatment. The record on monocot, dicot and total weed/m2, dry matter/m2, shoot length, number of new shoots, weed control efficiency and weed index showed that double spraying of glyphosate was feund to be better than single spray at all the levels tried in the experiment including mulches. Weeds reduced with increase in doses and maximum reduction was noticed at 3.0 kg/ha, however, glyphosate in double spray (2.5 kg/ha) proved economical.
