Abstract

Studies conducted at Directorate of Pulses Research (ICAR), Regionai Centre, Gwalior (M.P.) during 1985–86 and 1986–87 reveled that uncontrolled weeds reduce seed yield of pigconpea and mungbean by 54.7 and 77.0% over weed free check. Weed free upto 30 days of sowing arrested the weed growth by 85.4 ahd 69.0% in 1985–86 and 1986–87, respectively and caused reduction in seed yield of pigeonpea/mungbean and pigeonpea equivalent yield by 43.6, 51.3 and 45.0% in comparison to weed free check.
