Field studies were conducted at Ludhiana and Bathinda to evaluate the bioefficacy of metolachlor (0.75 & 1.0 kg/hal, haloxyfop methyl (0.0625 & 0.125 kg/ha), oxadiazon (0.50 & 0.75 kg/ha), pendimethalin (0.75 & 1.0 kg/ha), and fluchloralin (0.675 kg/ha) in mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) wilzeck). Metolachlor 1.0 kg/ha per-emergence gave an effective control of both annual grasses and broadleaf weeds and yielded comparable with two hand weeding, (20 & 40 days after sowing). Pendimethalin (1.0 kg/ha) was also quite effective and gave comparable weed control to hand weedings.
