Abstract

An experiment was conducted at Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar during the the year 1988–89 and 1989–90. Isoproturon was applied 25, 30 and 35 d.a s. at different doses. Isoproturon at 0.50 kg or 0.75 kg/ha applied just before first irrigation (25 d.a.s.) provided similar weed cuntrol and grain yield as its application at 1.0 kg/ha 35 d.a.s. Pendimethalin at 1.50 kg/ha applied pre-emergence was inferior to isoproturon. Isoproturon at 1.0 kg/ha applied 35 d.a.s. as tank mixture with u.ea, zinc sulphate or ferrous sulphate was as effective as its application alone.
