Contribution from Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricullural Univeisity, Ludhiana, India.
Field experiments were conducted for three years (1987–88 to 1989–90) at Ludhiana to study the bioefficacy of sub-tituted urea herbicides against Phalaris minor in wheat sown after rice. It was observed during all the three years that pre-emergence application of isoproturon at 0.75 and 0.94 kg/ha and metoxuron at 1.0. 12 and 1.5 ka/ha compared very well with recommended application of isoproturon at 0.94 kg/ha after first irrigation with respect to weed control potential and grain yield of wheat as these values were at par with each other.
