Field experiments conducted at research Station, Barakachha, Mirzapur of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, revealed that all the growth parameters, yield attributes and the yield of pigeonpea were higher when pigeonpea was intercropped with 75% population of seasame. However, yield of sesame grown in association was lower than sole crop. Two hand weedings given at 20 and 40 DAS (days after sowing) proved most effctive in promoting growth, yield and yield attributes of both the crops closely followed by fluchloralin 1.0 kg/ha. An association of 100% pigeonpea and 75% sesame with two hand weeding or fluchloralin 1.0 kg/ha had the yield potential of both the crops comparable with their sole crops using same weed control methods.
