Effect of Clopyralid Alone and as Tank Mixture With Isoproturon on Weed Control in Wheat

Two years field studies on the effect of tank mixture of isoproturon and clopyralid or 2,4-D conducted during 1989–90 & 1990–91 at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, revealed that clopyralid alone was effective against canada thistle but not against lambsquarter and yellow sweet clover. Tank mixture of isoproturon at 1.00 kg/ha + clopyralid at 0.075 kg/ha or isoproturon at 1.00 kg/ha + clopyralid at 0.125 kg/ha significantly reduced the population and dry weight of weeds at 120 DAS and consequently increased the grain yield as compared to clopyralid alone at 0.125 kg/ha. Isoproturon at 0.750 kg/ha + 2,4-D at 0.500 kg/ha applied as tank mixture provided similar weed control and grain yield of wheat compared with formulated mixture.
