Abstract

Field experiments conducted at the Regional Research Station, Kukumseri (Lahaul Valley) of Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur during summer seasons of 1993 and 1994 revealed that all the integrated treatments significantly reduced the weed number and dry matter of weeds compared tocloser row spacing and unweeded control. Sowing the crop at closer row spacing of 30 cm resulted in highest green pod yield though the differences with other treatments except unweedcd check were non-significant. The next best treatment was pendimethalin 0.75 kg/ha in combination with one hand weeding 30 days after sowing. This treatment favoured the yield attributes significantly over other treatment. Unchecked weed'growth reduced green pea pod yield by 26 and 29 per cent as compared to pre-emergence application of pendimethalin 0.75 kg/ha + one hand weeding treatment respectively during both the years.
