Abstract

Field experiments conducted at the Regional Research Station, Kukumseri (Lahaul Valley) of Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya. Palampur during summer seasons of 1993 and 1994 revealed that application of isoproturon 1.50 kg/ha. 10 days after planting of potato significantly reduced the number and weight of weeds. This treatment increased the potato tuber yield significantly as compared to other levels and times of application. Unchecked growth of weeds reduced the potato tuber yield to the tune of 16.5 and 20.5 per cent as compared those where weed control was exercised during 1993 and 1994. respectively.
