Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during rainy seasons of 1987 to 1989 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Palem to determine the cost effective and economic integrated weed managementin pigeonpea-groundnut intercropping system. The results revealed that less weed mass, higher yields of pigeonpea grain and groundnut pods, betterweed control efficiency and higher returns were obtained inweed management system involving hand weeding twice (15 and 30 DAS) followed by hand hoeing (30 and 42 DAS). The next best treatments were pendimethalin 1.0 kg/ha and fluchloralin 1.0 kg/ha each followed by hand hoeings (30 and 42 DAS).
