The study on weed dynamics under soybean ecosystem revealed that during the first flush six weed species viz., Echinochloa crusgalli Beauv., Cyperus iria L, Commelina benghalensis L, Euphorbia geniculata Oreteg., Psoralea corylifolia L. and Justicia diffusa Willd. were noted during both the years. E. crusgalli had the highest population. In general, the total weed population did not vary significantly at 35 days stage amongst different methods of sowing and tillage operations. The significantly lower weed population was noted under oxadiazon. All theweed control treatments reduced the total weed population significantly as compared to weedy check. F1uchloralin and haloxyfop-methyl were effective in controllingE. crusgalli and other grasses but were ineffective in controlling other broad leafweeds. F1uchloralin, oxadiazon and haloxyfop-methyl were effective in reducing the dry matter accumulation under all methods of sowing.
