Abstract

Studies on the chemical weed control in citrus nursery were carried out at Regional Fruit Research Station, Abohar with different herbicides va., diuron, oxyfluorfen and glyphosate alongwith hand weeding and control. All the treatments brought a significant reduction in weed population over control. Diuron was observed to be the most effective herbicide in oontrolling the weeds as it killed 76.9 percent of monocot and 82.8 percent dicot weeds and was safe. All the herbicides increased the height as well as trunk diameter of the seedlings over control.
