To study the effect of temperature and periods of seed storage on germination and dormancy of Ageratum houstonianum Mill., the laboratory experiments were conducted and data were analysed in split plot design by keeping 12 monthly periods of storage in main plots and six temperatures (15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40°C) in subplots during 1990. The results of the study revealed that minimum and optimum temperature for germination of seeds was 20°C and 3O-35°C, respectively. The seeds remained dormant upto three months after ripening and maximum germination occurred after 6–7 months of storage.
