The degradation of tribenuron-methyl based on moongbean bioassay was more in unsterilized soil than sterilized soil. Half life of tribenuron-methyl was 24 days in unsterilized soil, while it was 43 days in sterilized soil. Seventy-seven per cent of the herbicide degraded in sterilized soil after 120 days, whereas the corresponding loss in unsterilized soil was 84 per cent.
