An experiment under natural lake like growth conditions was conducted during winter (Sept.-Dec.), 1991 and spring-summer (March-June), 1992 to study the effect of 2,4-D, paraquat, glyphosate and 2,4-D + paraquat for the control of waterhyacinth. The data revealed that a complete mortality was obtained with post-emergence application of 2,4-D 2.0 kg/ha, glyphosate 3.0 kg/ha and 2,4-D+paraquat (2.0+0.5 kg/ha). These treatments recorded weed control efficiency ranging from 73.0 to 78.0% with no resprouting when observed after 42 days after spray.
