Abstract

Adsorption of isoproturon on three soil samples i.e. soil 1 (Palampur soil), soil 2 (PAU Farm, Ludhiana soil) and soil 3 (Haibowal soil) has been carried out at 25°C. The order of adsorption is soil 3 > soil 2 > soil 1. Adsorption of isoproturon increased with increase in concentration. The adsorption isotherms were of S-shape for all the three samples. The data isobtained conformed to the Freundlich equation. Averaged values of G (partial molar free energy change) have been calculated. Adsorption of isoproturon was of the frrst order.
