Field experiments conducted during summer seasons of 1995 and 1996 at Regional Research Station, Kukumseri (2672 m above mean sea level) revealed that integrated method of controlling weeds with pre-emergence application of pendimethalin(1.0 kg/ha) or alachlor (1.0 kg/ha) followed by one hand weeding at 30 days after sowing (DAS) were found most effective in controlling weeds in rajmash. The unchecked weed growth reduced the grain yield by 37 and 59% during 1995 and 1996, respectively, as comparedto pendimethalin (1.0 kg/ha) supplemented with one hand weeding at 30 DAS.
