Abstract

The field experiment was carried out during the winter seasons of 1994–95 and 1995–96 at National Research Centre for Weed Science, Jabalpur, M. P. The experiment was laid out in randomised block design consisting of ninet reatments. The data revealed that isoproturon 1kg/ha in combination with 2, 4–0 0.5 kg/ha applied at 30 days after sowing (DAS) gave the least weed dry weight as well as minimum number of weed plants. As far as yield was concerned, isoproturon 1.0 kg coupled with 2, 4-D 0.5 kg/ha gave the highest yield which was at par with isoproturon 1.5 kg/ha alone. Higher grain yield was recorded due to better weed control efficiency and higher crop dry matter production.
