A field study was carried out on clay loam soils of Udaipur during rabl 1993–94 and 1994–95 to evaluate effect of herbicides on weed control and yield of opium poppy. Highest latex, seed and capsule husk yields were obtained by weed free treatment, closely followed by isoproturon 0.125 kg/ha pre-emergence spray. Morphine content of latex remained unaffected by treatments.
