Abstract

Field studies were made for two consecutive years (1993–94 and 1994–95) at Kanpur to develop an effective and economical weed control schedule for pea+mustard intercropping. Pendimethalin (1.25 kg/ha) prevented weed competition especially from Chenopodium album and Phalaris minorshowing greater weed kill (78.71%) and more pea equivalent yield l60.23%) than obtained under unweeded control. Metribuzin was found highly toxic to mustard.
