A field study revealed that oxadiazon at 0.5 kg and oxytluorfen at 0.1 kg applied once reduced the weed counts and their dry weight in second and third year too. The lowest weed count (8–8.8) was recorded with three years' continuous application of both the herbicides. Plant stand at 20 DAS and harvest was not adversely affected by the continuous application of any of the herbicides rather favoured the other growth and yield parameters. Both grain and straw yields were significantly increased under direct as well as residual effect of herbicide. The study also revealed that oxadiazon was superior over oxytluorfen in all respects.
