Isoproturon (0.5 kg/ha) recommended for weed control in seeded gobhi sarson (Brassica napus L.) caused some initial toxicity. The study conducted for five years revealed that applicalion of trifluralin and fluchloralin each at 0.7 kg/ha as pre-plant incorporation gave effective weed control of both grass and broadleaf weeds. The efficacy of these herbicides was comparable to isoproturon and was safer even at higher dose of 1.0 kg/ha. Trifluralin and fluchloralin both at 0.75 and 1.0 kg/ha yielded at par with lwohand weedings and isoproturon 0.5 kg/ha. The results indicated that both trifluralin and fluchloralin at 0.75 kg/ha as ppi could be used for weed control in seeded gobhi sarson.
