Department of Agronomy, G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Hill Campus Ranichauri-249 199, Tehri, India.
Field experiment conducted during 1992 and 1993 at G. B. Pant University, Hill Campus, Ranichauri. Tehri Garhwal revealed that all the herbicides including 2,4–0 Na salt, glyphosate, oxyfluorfen, tribenuron methyl and chlorimuron ethyl found effective in controlling croften weed. Application of metsulfuron methyl, however, did not control this weed. Glyphosate at both 0.5 and 1.0% solution was found to control the weed cent per cent. The application of glyphosate at 0.25% or 2,4-D Na salt at 1.0%, was also found to control the croften weed to a satisfactory level (91.7 to 87.2%) sparing the grassy plants to be used as fodder.
