Studies were conducted for two years 1993–94 and 1994–95 at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to evaluate the efficacy of different herbicides and their combinations against weeds in wheat. Isoproturon applied post-emergence at 1.25 kg/ha was found more effective than tralkoxydim. Tralkoxydim+isoproturon at 0.25+0.375 kg/ha applied post-emergence increased the grain yield of wheat to the level of weed free check. This combination also provided better weed control and resulted in higher number of effective tillers and consequently grain yield of wheat compared to all other herbicide treatments applied alone or in mixture.
