Results of an experiment conducted in 1993–94 and 1994–95 at Research Farm, CCSHAU, Hisar revealed that isoproturon at 1.0–1.25 kg/ha, isoproturon+tralkoxydim at 0.375+0.25 kg/ha and isoproturon+diclofop-methyl at 0.50+0.50 kg/ha were at par in controlling the grassy weeds dominated by littleseed canary grass (Phalaris minor Retz.) in wheal. Consequently, all these treatments also increased the grain yield of wheat to the level of weed free check during both the years. Performance of tralkoxydim was better than diclofop-methyl but both were inferior to isoproturon or its tank mixture with either of these herbicides. Antagonistic effects were observed both in terms of poor weed control and lower yields when diclofopmethyl was tank mixed with tralkoxydim.
