Abstract

Evaluation of certain herbicide treatments for weed management in Cynodon dactylon lawn during 1994 and 1995 in Palampur revealed that Paspalum dilatatum was the major weed. Atrazine 4 kg/ha caused significant reduction in number of P. dilatatum. total grasses, total weeds and dry weight of total weeds per unit area. Hand weeding once and atrazine 2 kg/ha were statistically comparable with atrazine 4 kg/ha. Treatment with atrazine 2 kg/ha was statistically comparable with atrazine 4 kg/ha. Treatment with atrazine 2 kg/ha was cost effective as com pared to other treatments.
