Abstract

Pot culture experiments were conducted during kharif 1999 and 2000 at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar to study the allelopathic effects ofParthenium hysterophorus (L.) on Cyperus rotundus, and three species of Echinochloa i. e. E. colona, E. crusgalli and E. glabrescence, P. hysterophorus extract @ 5, 10 and 15% (w/v) as pre-emergence and post-emergence at 30 DAS and even soil drenching with 15, 30 and 45% solution of Parthenium extract did not cause any adverse allelopathic effects on the growth of any of the weeds in question during both the years.
