A field experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 1998, 1999 and 2000 in acid inceptisol to find out most effective weed control and nutrient management practice for rice. Results revealed that butachlor 1.0 kg ha−1 or pretilachlor 0.75 kg ha−1 applied three days after transplanting (DAT) significantly reduced weed infestation till 45 DAT and resulted in higher yield of rice over weedy check.
