Pre-emergence application of butachlor at 1500 g ha−1 and post-emergence application of cyhalofop butyl at 80 g ha−1 were found equally effective in controlling Echinochloa colona and significantly enhanced grain yield of rice than unweeded check. Although hand weeding proved to be the best, cyhalofop butyl at 80 g ha−1 was observed to be alternative proposition for better control of E. colona.
