Abstract

Field experiments were carried out at the experimental farm of the Department of Agronomy and Agromet., Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana (Punjab) from 2000–01 to 2002–03 to study the performance of Atlantis 3.6 WOO (mesosulfuron 3.0 WDG+ iodosulfuron 0.6 WDG) for the control of isoproturon resistant Phalaris minor from wheat in rice-wheat cropping system. The performance of mesosulfuron+iodosulfuron at 12.0 g+2.4 g and 15.0 g+3.0 g/ha, applied 30–35 days after sowing, was found at par with the already recommended herbicides i. e. clodinafop and sulfosulfuron with respect to control of Phalaris minor and production of grain yield. On an average of three years, application of Atlantis at 12.0 and 15.0 g a. i./ha increased grain yield of wheat by 43.8 and 49.3%, respectively, than control (unweeded) crop against 48.7% in clodinafop 60.0 g/ha and 47.4% in sulfosulfuron 25.0 g/ha.
