Lentil and chickpea were highly affected and by higher percentage yield losses were caused by Cuscuta. Linseed and pea were moderate in their susceptibility to the weed, while wheat, mustard and rajmash werer not affected by this weed. When Cuscuta seedlings were nearer to the crop rows of linseed (either in the same row or at 5 cm distance), the crop plants were more likely to be affected by Cuscuta. The losses in seed yield due to increasing densities of Cuscuta from 1 to 10 m−2 ranged from 27.7 to 88.3% in case of summer greengram and 39.3 to 98.4% in case of niger.
