Abstract

Atrazine at 2.0 kg ha-1 was very effective in controlling the weed growth and recorded higher weed control efficiency (88.4%) followed by metribuzin at 0.5 kg ha−1 (66%) and was comparable with two hand weedings done 20 and 60 days after planting (79.8%). Atrazine recorded the maximum cane yield (89.4 t ha−1) and was on par with metribuzin, two hand weedirgs at 20 and 60 DAP and four interculturing at 25, 40, 55 and 70 DAP.
