Field experiments on kabuli chickpea were canied out during winter seasons of 2003 and 2004 to evaluate the performance of new genotypes under phosphorus nutrition and weed management practices. Chenopodiurn album was the dominating weed in the experimental field. Both the genotypes i. e. HK 94–134 and HK 98–155 were statistically similar in suppressing weeds and their production. Pendimethalin @ 1.5 kg/ha was found effective in controlling weeds. Application of 30 and 60 kg P2O/ha was found statistically at par in respect of grain yield; however, produced significantly higher grain yield & compared to no phosphorus application. Dry weight of weeds was also increased with the increase in phosphorus application.
