Effect of Various Rates of 2, 4-D with and Without Urea on Dwarf Wheat and Associated Weeds*

An experiment was laid out at the Research Farm of the Department of Agronomy, Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar during the years 1971–72 and 1972–73 comprising two levels of 2,4-D with and without 3% urea for the control of weeds in dwarf wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), 2,4-D alone and in combination with 3% urea gave 5 to 20 and 20 to 30 per cent increased grain yield respectively over control. Reduction in grain and straw yield caused by weeds was 22.5 and 30.5 per cent respectively over control. Handwee-ding with and without urea gave 12 and 7 per cent increased grain yield respectively over control.
