Studies were initiated to find out the nitrogen content present in different plant parts of Parthenium at seedling, flowering and maturity stages. The inflorescence found to contain 2.8 to 2.9 per cent nitrogen at flowering and maturity stages, respectively. There was high nitrogen percentage in Parthenium as compared to other green manure crops which gives scope to use parthenium as green manure plant.
