JFM is concept of developing partnership between forest users groups an forest development (FD) on the basis of mutual trust and jointly defined responsibilities with regard to forest protection and development Joint, forest management elicits participation of the people for reforming and respiring degraded forests. Peoples participation as defined by MO is a process by which the rural poor are able to organize themselves and through their own organization is able to identify their own needs, share in the design implementation and evaluation of the participatory action. It is evident from the findings that there was poor participation and a sense of belongingness among the respondents. Factions in village community, lack of mutual trust, dominance of few influential in VFC, lack of motivation among villagers, least mobilization effects and corruption among forest officials and VFC members were major factors resulting in low level of participation.
