Abstract

Agricultural universities of Maharashtra introduced Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RA WE) programme in undergraduate course curricula in 1987 with a view to impart practical experience and communicate technological knowhow among to students and the farmers in the villages. It is well-organized system that agricultural scientists, officials and farmers are involved to impart practical training on various aspects and technology in agriculture to the students of VII semester of under graduate degree programme in Agriculture and Horticulture. Every year about 250 students of Agricultural and Horticulture colleges get an opportunity ’to live and work with the villages and work with farmers, youths and fram women and arrange the different activities related to technology transfer in real life situation. During this programme, majority of the technologies get communicated among the RA WE students and farmers.
