This paper deals with concept and importance of Expert System particularly Web enabled Expert System in Agricultural domain. Problems and prospects of its development has been discussed. Finally, research initiative at Allahabad Agricultural Institute-Deemed University for developing the same has been described. The research work will provide a framework for the development of Web based Expert System in Agricultural domain.
