Abstract

ICDS, one of the world's largest programme for early childhood development is working for the vulnerable sections of India's poor, deprived and disease stricken child population under six years, since 1975. Yet, the proper implementation of services is not diffused to the grass root level. Therefore, an effort was made to study the relationship between socio-personal, behavioural and organizational traits with organizational communication effectiveness whether they affect the communication network or not. A sample of 418 respondents was taken from ICDS and its two coordinated departments from state level to village level by multi stages random sampling. The source of information, the distance from their office to residence and experience showed significantly positive association with organizational communication effectiveness. Significant positive correlation was also found between organizational trust, job satisfaction and organizational commitment with organizational communication effectiveness.
