Content analysis is a scientific methodology to investigate the exposure of specific content published in media. The present study is an attempt to discover the environmental content published in Indian. Daily Sakal, Loksatta, Pudhari and Maharashtra Times news papers, selected for measuring the content of environmental issues in square centimetre for thirty days period. The environmental news contents are distributed in various sections. The environmental news are categorised according to the topics as well as news paper. In Loksatta news paper frequency of environmental news are higher. The news issues related to environmental pollution have got a more scope followed by social issues of environment. Sakal and Loksatta give a scope for publishing the environmental news under Special Article section. This research also draws some policy suggestions. It is necessary to organise special training programme on environmental news reporting to the editors, sub-editors and news reporters.
