Abstract

It is found that, majority of the Cotton growers used Television, Radio and Newspaper for the acquisition of information related to agriculture. The cotton growers family type and size of land holding had non-significant relation with extent of use of mass media. The relation of age with extent of use of mass media had negative but statistically significant relation, while education, family size, social participation, annual income, motivation, aspiration and source of information had significant relation. Study revealed that, most of the cotton growers were interested to read the newspaper in morning session, television, in night session and radio in evening session. T.V. channels can telecast programmes at night for farmers. Radio station can broadcasts Agricultural programmes in the evening for better reach to farming community. Majority of the cotton growers faced the constraints like irregular electric supply; difficult to understand scientific language used in broad cast/telecast and short duration of time for broadcasting/telecasting.
