The study was conducted in the year 2008–09 in Andhra Pradesh. All the 22 KVKs were selected for the study. The study indicated that most of the Agricultural Professionals in KVKs were young to middle aged (50 percent) and majority of them had i. e., Post graduation level of education in Agriculture and allied disciplines (80 percent) with 1–10 years of experience (58 percent). Majority of Agricultural Professionals (60 percent) were from agriculture and related disciplines, with training experience (62 percent) in use of MS Office and Office automation. The Communication, audio-visual and research facilities available at the institute level of the Scientists working revealed that around 66 percent of respondents found the communication facilities are adequate, 42 per cent of the respondents found that the Audio-visual facilities are adequate and only 40 per cent of them found that the research and lab facilities are adequate. But around 38 per cent of the scientists found that the ICT facilities are not adequate. Sixty four per cent of the respondents are involved in multiple job activities such as research, teaching and transfer of technology. Modern communication devices like telephone and mobile phones are used daily by hundred per cent of the scientists for both personal and professional activities. All the respondents opined that ICTs are the only source world wide information access at lowest cost. Majority of the scientists (92 per cent) expressed the problem of lack of sufficient knowledge on use of ICTs and suggested to have advance trainings in using modern ICT devices.
