Abstract

In this information age, knowledge plays a critical role in enhancing the capacity of the farmers to realize higher yields and profit. This is so because in the post WTO agreement era, farmers rely heavily on innovative extension practices to withstand competition in world trade market. With the advent of Information Technology a large number of tools in the form of WWW (World Wide Web), electronic learning (e-learning) authoring tools etc. are available for information dissemination. It is advantageous to send horticultural related information to the farmers through digital means since it is fast, can be interactive and also cost effective. The digital media information is expected to serve not only the farmers but also different entrepreneurs engaged in cultivation horticultural crops. In this paper we will discuss about the use of freely available e-learning authoring tool for development of e-learning modules.
