Abstract

Extension Teaching Methods are the devices or tools used to create situations in which communication can take place between the instructor and learner. Knowledge gain and retention by the audience differs from extension teaching method to method, audience to audience and even practice to practice. The present study conducted in Maharashtra on a sample of 200 farm women and exposed to five treatments revealed that knowledge gain and retention of the respondents at immediately after exposure stage was highest in Video Cassette + Folder method followed by Audio Cassette + Folder, Video Cassette, Folder and Audio Cassette extension teaching methods.
