Abstract

'Farm and Home ’unit of All India Radio started ‘Farm school on Air ’programme for effective dissemination of constantly evolving new farm technologies. The programme follows an instructional process of teaching the farmers about location specific; need based modern technology systematically and on regular basis. Being an innovative programme, various aspects of ‘FSA ’programme need to be studied comprehensively. The study was conducted on farmers who have registered in FSA programme on organic farming. Thirty three per cent of the registered farmers were selected randomly. Thus the total number of respondents was 75. Evaluative study was conducted to fulfill the objective. On the basis of the findings and dominant trends it can be concluded that majority of the respondents were young aged having medium education status involved mainly in farming and having medium size of land holding. The majority of the respondents had nuclear medium size families. Most of the respondents had low mass media exposure. Radio was considered as the most credible source of information by majority of the respondents. Overwhelming majority of respondents was fully gratified with the FSA programme. The audience activity of FSA programme indicates the effectiveness of the programme and it was found to be at medium level.
