The study was conducted in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh state in the year 2005. Four villages of Kashi Vidyapeeth block namely Ramna, Seergoverdhanpur, Chittupur and Bhagwanpur, consisted the study area taking the sample size of hundred vegetable growers. Twenty-five farmers selected from each village using equal allocation technique. A multi stage random sampling technique adopted for the selection of real respondents for the study. The information was collected with the help of a structured interview schedule. Majority of the respondents (67%) had favourable attitude toward PAES followed by most favourable (20%) and least favourable attitude (13%). Privatization of Agricultural Extension Services (PAES) has become essential in our country to increase the competitiveness among service providers and in turn to give justice to our farmers. Nevertheless, at the same time, it requires great caution about problems and hindrances emerging due to privatization.
