Abstract

This study was confined to the KVK area in Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand and conducted during years 2008–09. Under this study, 80 farmers (40 trained and 40 untrained) were selected randomly and interviewed to assess the impact of training given to them. This study revealed that the farmers from trained category possessed significantly higher level of knowledge (81.4) about garden pea cultivation technologies than the farmers from untrained category (58.2). Further, study also reveals that the exposure of the trained farmers towards latest technology through on-farm trails helped them to increase their knowledge, as majorities (52.5%) were found having medium level of knowledge. Similarly, least number of farmers (22.5%) were found to be of low level of knowledge regarding garden pea production technology.
