Abstract

The Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) is a ‘single window ’support system linking with various units of a research institution (Teaching Research and Extension) with intermediary users and end users (farmers) in decision making and problem solving exercise on various aspects of agriculture and allied practices. There were 835 visitors from Faizabad and 624 from the district of Sultanpur (835+624=1459). Lastly, 10% of the total visitor farmers (146) of these two districts were chosen randomly, but due to unavailability at their home or due to death, only 142 made the final sample size for this study. Most of the respondents(52.12%) visited personally to ATIC, whereas 75.39 per cent of the respondents contacted with ATIC through telephone, which is an evidence that awareness regarding the services of ATIC is being increased, finding also reveal that farmers were in urgent need of having good quality of seeds, therefore, 91.55 per cent of the respondents personally contacted to have seeds while, their number was also very high i.e. 83 (66.19%) for making contact through telephone.
