Awareness of ipm technology and effectiveness of extension methods

IPM is a multidisciplinary approach includes all disease and insect management practices coordinated in a unified programme, present study was conducted on the awareness of IPM technology and to find out the best method of extension for the implementation of IPM technology, among garden pea growers, under the supervision of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. The study was conducted on 60 farmers randomly selected and interviewed separately, IPM practices were followed by farmers to a considerable extent like monitoring (100%), seed treatment (80%), crop rotation (78.33%), and identification of insect pest and diseases (63.33%). The adoption level of this IPM technology was maximum under the combination of three extension methods training, demonstration and literature (65%) followed by the combination of training and demonstration (58.33%), demonstration (35%), training (26.66%) and literature (5%).
