A web-enabled information system has been developed at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bangalore, for research monitoring, planning and communication. It consists of an MS Access database, which contains information about research projects of IIHR, both in-house as well as externally aided and a web-based interface that facilitates information retrieval. The information system is available on the Local Area Network (LAN) of IIHR and has been found quite helpful in quick retrieval of information and research planning. In this paper we highlight the features of the same.
